Photopoetryblog: Tarde

Poem: "Tarde" by Juan L. Ortiz
Photo: "The Blue" by Me

Tarde

El mundo es un pensamiento
realizado de la luz.
Un pensamiento dichoso.
De la beatitud, el mundo
ha brotado. Ha salido
del éxtasis, de la dicha,
llenos de sí, esta tarde,
infinita, infinita,
con árboles y con pájaros
de infancia ¿de qué infancia?
¿de qué sueño de infancia?

"The Blue"
[crude translation of poem into English:

The world is a thought
had by light.
A joyful thought.
From the beatitude, the world
has sprouted. It has come out
of the ecstasy, from the joy,
full themselves, this afternoon,
infinite, infinite,
with trees and birds
from childhood. From what childhood?
From what dream of childhood?

(my apologies to Juan L. Ortiz for this raw translation)]

I like your poem better than Juan's. The photo is also nice. Did you take it?

Yes the photograph is by me. I guess I didn't mention that. And the English translation of Juan's poem does not do it nearly the justice it deserves (trust me). Thanks though, and thanks for being the only one who looks at the blog.

I looked at the blog, but I didn't read it...I was jesting, that was a jest. I just found out that former U.S. poet Laureate Lousie Glu(umlaut)ck is coming to UCI. I will try to go listen. I like her poem "Vespers." I thibk you would also like it. When are exams?
